Re: I Have an Idea - Why Don't the Viewpoints Posters Move to Among Friends?

occassionalrain, you like insulting people, I have noticed.  Among Friends is not Viewpoints, therefore, posters there do not want to debate issues.  If they do, they go to Viewpoints.  Many posters from Among Friends also post in Viewpoints. I believe posters created Among Friends to get away from the hostility that was found in Viewpoints, at least at one time.  I think Viewpoints, Gamers, and Among Friends should have their own place.

I believe you are correct from what I have read there before.  Some Viewpoints poster didn't wander into Among Friends and allowed it to stay "Among Friends".

Mousie can't possibly know what I like, still accusing a fellow poster of liking to insult is insulting so, I guess we won't be seeing her on any Hallmark forums.

So, this is from the OP. I've been out for awhile and just back to this thread. Have we decided to post "Among Friends "? Maybe if we do that, the Among Friends posters will start complaining, then the Q will have not only the Gamers, Viewpoints posters complaining, but the Among Friends posters also complaining. Maybe then they'll decide to take us seriously. 😁

Smartt move Himi, it worked. However, I don't enjoy the treatment the Q gave those of us who regularly posted on Viewpoints. So, until we are given consideration and Viewpoints back, I'm staying with Among Friends.

Thanks SR. I was actually hesitant to start this thread. But did so anyway. Frankly, I usually post on the Beauty and Fashion Boards, but recently discovered how much I like Viewpoints.

dear Jubilant, Thank you for your post discussing why many of us like viewpoints. I am very new to this whole site (and not computer savvy). Yes there are a few sharks trolling on Viewpoints, but it doesn't take long to figure out who they are. We all have our favorites, which we all deserve to have. I have a question: If people are complaining only through "Suggestion Box" - obviously monitored by the same people who made a royal mess of this site - how can any of us expect constructive changes? When I called QVC on Monday to complain about this issue, I was told there were not many calls. I felt my concerns were listened to and there was a chance they would be forwarded to Corporate. It could be the best way to get attention. I doubt the creators of this mess would communicate CUSTOMER dissatisfaction to the high-ups. And many of us are CUSTOMERS. Please do not attack me. Your thoughts?

Hi, PamfromCT:  I think of lots of Viewpointers think that the moderators don't want us back....at least not the way we were before.  I also feel that Viewpoints could have been a great place if the moderators would have some "not so strict" rules but enforced the few they have.  I don't think it will do much good to complain as they want us dispersed.  I do think we will find each other and Among Friends is the most likely place....although I see some here are not comfortable with that.  I think it seems an "odd" combination to some.  It doesn't to me....people are people wherever they are and wherever we are there is always a mix.  I do agree the Gamers definitely need their own place.

I think that Q wants the VP posters scattered and calmed down for awhile, hoping most will leave because we can't find a common area to discuss in, and many of us won't invade Among Friends or Mom's to get the point across.

First, Q should define each forum. Yes, some are very self explanatory, but some are not, especially those at the bottom of the list, like mom to mom, Among Friends, and Q Talk (which used to be about things Q did etc.) So defining who should be where for which topics would be a start.

And there aren't enough forums to keep them from being jumbled messes. Gamers need  one, and many of the sub forums need to come back. If I want to talk about one particular line of clothing, or only candles, like before, I'm not wading through all that stuff to find  common threads.

And I guess I will simply ask, why not a Viewpoints forum, where the rules are a little different. If politics etc. is kept there, and kept clean, why not. It wouldn't be allowed to bleed over to other forums, and could have it's own set of sub rules, where people can actually discuss things of importance. If they don't put one up, people will invade the others, and viewpoints will just pollute the other forums. That would seem like more work to monitor than just giving it it's own space.

I have already moved to another site that allows viewpoint type posting, and so have a lot of posters who were very active here. Should that succeed, many won't be spending as much time here (or the money that goes with time spent here), if Q cares about that. And probably they don't.
