Sounds like a good idea.
You should probably stay away from a lot of threads on Community Chat, also.
I love the Home forum, look at the Fashion, and sometimes Among Friends, but that can get *hairy*, too.![]()

This is probably one of the most important times in history to keep up with the news. I don't have to like it but I do have to stay informed. I watch and read news outlets and sources that are fair and honest so follow them closely.

I am still interested in watching statements made by the candidates regarding the November election as aired on CSPAN. Other than that, it is just biased and redundant.

There is so much information, misinformation and politics. The mods try and cut them off and I found myself even trying to help them with an alert when posters name call and are mean.
I am also avoiding posts here of death and dying, illinesses, depression and generally down posts. That includes pets as well as don't need to hear it. I know people are hurting and desire support but it just affects me too much.
@Gorgf @I wanted to say this for weeks. Thanks for posting your true thoughts. I totally agree with you. I also have backed off the boards for a while for the same reason. I find them worse than if I sat down and watched the national news. The news is less depressing.
Agree @Blingqueen023. I've given up on the news. If anything happens that's truly important for me to know, I'll somehow hear of it... As for these boards, they've become extremely myopic and too often overly dramatic, angry, depressing, with some posters who too often escalate quickly and more than they should...

I've been watching several news sources to stay balanced and it can be exhausting. Also illuminating how biased channels are. I'm watching NPR and BBC for a while. I'm not trying to decide who to vote for and have given up trying to reason with people who do the conspiracy theory game. I have my mind made up. Just wanting to stay informed now.

I listen to my local news once a day and then maybe tha national news on and off---but it all makes me so angry---common sense is a thing of the past these days---so I don't watch much either just enough to stay informed.

@nevergivesup I love David Muir and look forward to hearing him every evening even when the news is bad.
As far as local news I might watch the first 10 minutes once a day where I used to watch it for a couple of hours a day.

I'm back to reading again. So much better.

I am felling the same, but have a hard time not watching The Five, Tucker, and Laura. Can't stand CNN, but like to get both sides. Can't stand channel 7 here in No. Cal. except the weather, but channel 5 not so sensational as 7.

@qualitygal... Me too... I've always read a lot for entertainment but it's been off the charts this year... Very glad I can once again avail myself of library books...
