@Jordan2

I haven't read every post, but I've become the opposite ... I hate summer.   This past September we had 11 days where the temperature went above 100 degrees and I turned a new version of crabby.

Well, I'm not going to try to change anyone's mind, but I do have one positive thing to add here ......  when the weather changes, at least it gives you a chance to rotate your wardrobe!   LOL  Woman LOL

Have a good holiday everybody!    Heart

Born and raised in central Indiana. Then lived in west Michigan most of my adult life. Have been retired in Florida for four years.
Having lived my life in a state where winter lasts six months, I'm living in paradise here. The sun! Daily sun! Our particular area of Michigan was called the cloud belt, based on statistics about how few sunny days we got per year. That leads to some real mood problems. Other states have spring in March and April. In Michigan it's still cold and snowy. It's funny though; when you are younger, raising kids, you do what needs to be done to make it through the winters. You're established, with jobs, schools, friends, activities.
But when we got old enough to retire everything changed. No obligations holding us to the Mitten. We have been so happy here.
I'm a bit worried about my friends in west Michigan, already under a blizzard warning until Saturday. So many Christmas plans will be affected.

@amyb I was born in July too! I work and don't like to drive in the snow and ice, I'm a white knuckle driver! I hate  having to shovel and scraping ice and snow off my car. I try not to make any doctor's appointments in Winter, I try to hold off until Spring if I can.

I agree it was much worse when I was working. One job I had about a 50 min-1 hr commute for a few years (company moved further away in the time I was there) and in the usual traffic it could be longer. I had to drive home more than once in blizzard conditions, even when they let us out early...one time it took me 3 hrs to get home!

Another time I left too late, while helping a customer and it got very bad out very fast...THAT one was my "white knuckle driving"...so scary I prayed all the way home. Never again!

That's a stress I no longer have these days, so I feel for you and understand completely!

Also, yes...it is a drag cleaning off the cars which can take on average 30 min...freezing cold, digging it out some bad days!

Good idea about the doc appointments...unfortunately all mine have been on the Nov/Dec schedule in recent years, all accumulating at the end of the year!

Good luck with it all~I hope this storm doesn't completely derail the holidays. Stay safe and warm. Hopefully we keep power!

I love the Fall and Winter seasons for many reasons.  I have energy and motivation to be out and about, to visit friends, to breathe in healthy air and be cozy and snug at night.  I always keep my bedroom window open slightly and sleep well. I have absolutely no interest in being in a warmer climate.  Just this past week the loud can't hear myself think sound of lawn mowers and leaf blowers stopped after months of disturbing the peace daily at all hours.  I welcome the change and gladly trade away the heat and humidity.

Although I don't like icy roads and blizzards, winter can be a wonderful time (in moderation). Living in the Great Lakes area, I don't consider 20 degrees to be cold.

I like the change of seasons and would miss that.  There are plus and minus of every season.

Fall is my favorite.

I hate summer.  The high humidity, noxious bugs, the violent storms, etc.  Spring is even worse for storms.  The only season I prefer is autumn.  But it's the shortest lasting one.
