I Had My First Chiropractic Adjustment Ever, Today (sorry it's long)

And will NEVER go back again!!!{#emotions_dlg.crying}

I've had chronic neck pain for about 2 years.....had an MRI and saw a neurologist about 18 months ago. In addition to the neck pain I was getting shooting pains down my arms that last for about 30-45 seconds. They don't happen often, but when they do, they are excruciating.

The MRI show damage between my C5/C6/C7 vertabrae with cord compression on the right side (causing pain on the left side), and herniation between the discs.

I never followed up with anyone after that visit, until this past September.....finally went to my Orthopedist and he suggested Physical Therapy. I have such a crazy schedule and kept putting it off, but the neck pain has become so bad that I finally went.

Today was my first P/T appointment and after being evaluated he felt I would be better off seeing the Chiropractor that he shares an office with. Both of them referred to something called Neck Subluxation and said that after a few adjustments I should feel great. The Chiro couldn't see me at that time, so I went back at 3pm

First he had me lie on my stomach and he did heat therapy on my neck (felt great) for about 10-15 mins. Then he had me turn over to my back and he did my adjustment. I swear, I had no idea how bad it would hurt!!! He cracked one side, then the other. It was horrible!!!! Then he did some Ultra-sound therapy on the left side of my spine (where I was having the pain).

Well....it felt a teeny bit better, but it still hurt and I ended up taking 4 Advil and now it feels pretty good.

That adjustment was really bad, and I don't know if I can go thru that again. I have another appointment next Friday and I think I'm going to cancel.

Has anyone here had similar pain and have you ever been to a Chiropractor? If not, how did you find relief.......or did you ever find relief? I'm afraid to go thru that again....I felt like my spinal cord was going to snap.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Sorry this is so long.
