Can't ya'll just be happy for her?

Good for you, Yuban! Enjoy the excitement of a new to you car and I hope it lasts as long as your Nissan-

Having seen people get burned I just wanted to help.

Really, that's all.

I hope the car serves her well for many years to come.

I'm happy for her, but thanks for the reminder. I did forget to say so. I hope your car runs as long as the last one did, Yuban. Congrats.

Sorry for being a bit of a buzz-kill.

You had a car for 28 years??? Holy smokes! I'd buy another Nissan if I had that good of an experience with it! Congrats on getting a new car that you love! May it last as long as your last one!

Emma: My Nissan was still running strong for 15 years but unfortunately the inspection didn't pass because of undercarriage deterioration. I miss that car.

Yuban: Enjoy your new car.

Hi Cakers! I had a Ford Explorer for 10 years......then gave it to my son who had it for another 8 years without having to have much work done during that time. So I don't think 15 to 20 years is unheard of........but 28 years is a long time for a car! Nissan's must be pretty darned well made!

Hi Emma: Loved my Nissan. The engine and transmission still ran like new. After that, we became a one car family. I think being in a garage a good portion of those years made a difference, but you know how winter roads can be and the damage to the underside of cars.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Many years ago, my son's Escort blew an engine. He needed a car immediately to get to school and work.

We went to a dealer who pulled the usual bait & switch...the $5,000 car we wanted - in their ad - JUST WAS SOLD (even though I had called 10 minutes earlier and they said it was available and indeed it was sitting there on the lot with no SOLD sign on it), but they had another for $7500....just a few dollars more per month. I told him I didn't appreciate driving out of my way to their dealership after a call to make sure the car was available. I had never bought a car from them before and would never recommend them after that blatant bait & switch. I wanted the $7500 car for $5000 or I would make sure everyone knew about their tactics.

We settled on $6,000 - it was a 2004 Ford Taurus with 20,000 miles - two years old at the time. Well it is still going strong after 8 years.

I can't stand the games dealers play!

Neither can I, and boy, do they play some doozies!

I had one try to tell me that I was REQUIRED to purchase an extended warranty as a condition of purchasing the car. I looked right at him and said "are you telling me that this is so poorly made that it's going to fall apart when the factory warranty expires, because if that's the case, I'm not buying the car". I didn't buy it anyway.

I had another one refuse to talk about the bottom line price of the car. All he would talk about is how much I could afford to pay monthly and whether or not I had a trade. When I said I was paying cash, he said it wasn't allowed, I HAD to finance the car. Didn't buy from him either.

A 2013 Toyota Camry, 11,000 miles on it, for less than $5,000??? What did the background check show on it? Did it come from a state with recent flooding?

Hope you get lots of enjoyment from it!

I agree, doesn't sound right to me either.

I'm not going to say what I paid for my car, but it was more than double than where I found it in the "Used" section on the website.

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

Enjoy your new car! My DD has a 2014 Camry and loves it. They hold their value.

But don't be skeptical of cars with low mileage. lol. Our one car is a Subaru and its 3 years old and only has 15,000 miles on it. (We only use to run errands, visiting people, and for Dr appts. My DH drives our old car to work).
