I just checked my e-mail, and I received a message from "Apple".
In it it said,
"Dear Customers
Due to a problem with your card, we have been unable to charge your account. Your Apple ID automatically locks to protect your security an you can't sign in to any Apple service.
If you don't update your card information. your Apple ID will be locked. You can unlock your Apple ID after you verify your identity."
Then there was a big blue button that said "VERIFY".
It goes without saying that I did NOT click on that button.
Notice the grammatical and spelling mistakes in the message.
Those are red flags right there that this is a scam.
Also, the fact that I don't own any Apple products is another clue that this is a scam.
Stay vigilant, people!

Good catch! Absolutely a scam. I've received those and I don't own an Apple anything.

I received an email from Apple a couple weeks ago. I took a screenshot of it and then I deleted the email. I sent the screenshot in to Apple’s place reporting of this type of thing. I think it was an email that Apple has on their site. I looked up what to do before I did this. I sent it to reportphishing@apple.com

They left four messages on my phone yesterday. So annoying.

I get similar emails from Apple every couple weeks (this has been going on for at least three years). I just ignore them.

I forward those to reportphishing@apple.com. It goes without saying I don't open them. That's what Applecare told me to do, that way they can look into it.

Its that time of year😉
Today spouse who uses email very limited except to do his golf stuff, check football results calls me over & said to me "hey, I have email I won a $75 Costco gift card, should I open it?" Me: no stop being so naive delete it!
Tonight he says must be my lucky day now I've been selected for WM survey & Ill get $100 gc for participating.
I just rolled my eyes! I guess I'm not so lucky because all I get is scam emails asking me to "verify" my info🤷♀️ my delete button is getting a workout😂
