Re: I Did It, I Tossed All My Make-up!

@SharkE  Trust me, my skin is not perfect now.  It was when I was younger, but I have a couple of age spots on the left side of my face from sun while driving.

I can take care of the stray hairs, I have to or I look like a Chia Pet, and keep the brows nice.

Foundation, powder or liquid, just makes my bumper crop of lines more pronounced, so no sense in making it worse.

I have pared down my makeup stash significantly, it is now more organized. I don't think I could ever get rid of all my makeup, I wish I felt confident enough to meet the world "naked"!

Re: I Did It, I Tossed All My Make-up!

I'm with @SharkE . Now that we've retired, I don't wear it every day anymore, but I have some serious hyperpigmentation that gives my face a kinda calico look--not attractive!  If I'm going somewhere, I doll it up a bit, concealer, powder, blush and mascara.  A little lipstick, too.  On a day-to-day basis, though, no big glamor thing.  I'm an old lady, and there isn't much I could do to look like anything other than an old lady.  I'm good with that.  DH already knows what I look like--and he's 10 years older, so he's no Adonis, either.

Just happy to still have each other and have a good life together.  The Lord has been good to us.

Re: I Did It, I Tossed All My Make-up!

I like that one "I scare all the birds out of the trees", that made me laugh, but I enjoy using what I use on different days.  Some days, I let the skin breathe.  If I'll go out or someone's due to visit, then I do my face.  It doesn't take long, it is what it is.............some days it helps me to see myself in the mirror, looking healthy. I do need that blush.

Lipstick without makeup looks really weird on me.  I go most days without makeup, but would not go to church services without it.  I know I look better with it and enjoy getting dressed up occasionally.  I just spent and entire week makeup-free with only a slightly tinted physical sunscreen on the lower part of my face.

If that is truly how you feel, then good for you.  If you change your mind down the road, you can always purchase a minimal amout of what you need.

Personally,  I LOVE MAKE UP and ENJOY putting it on.  It makes me feel great and finished.   I use a little less on the weekends than I do when I'm going to work M-F.

My Mom wore make up until the day she died at 94.  She was so proud of the way she looked when she had it on.

I need to toss whatever is rolling around in the drawer. Never wore much makeup and after I lost all my hair in chemo, including lashes and brows, I pretty much went to just moisturizer.

I don't feel complete without my makeup on...like I'm sick or something.

You are brave....I don't wear a lot of make up, but would never go  without foundation and blush....even on the days when I don't leave the house.
