I'm sorry.  That sounds like it hurt!

I was opening a package with a knife one time and cut myself pretty bad.  It bled for so long that I went to the ER and got stitches.  I still have a strange feeling in that part of my finger.

@Anonymous032819  Ouch! Finger wounds hurt so!  Just for the future, Hydrogen Peroxide is not too good for deep cuts or wounds. I found this info:

Using  hydrogen peroxide to clean an injury can actually harm the tissue and delay healing. The best way to clean a minor wound is with cool running water and mild soap. Rinse the wound for at least five minutes to remove dirt, debris, and bacteria.

Treat the wound with antibiotics: After cleaning the wound, apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment to prevent infection. Close and dress the wound: Closing clean wounds helps promote faster healing. Waterproof bandages and gauze work well for minor wounds

@Anonymous032819  I know that had to be painful, so I hope that you are feeling better tonight.  The tips of our fingers are very sensitive.  I hope that it heals well, but you might want to have it checked, just in case.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

@Anonymous032819 - I'm impressed- when I first saw your picture I thought you'd had it professionally taken care of! I hope it's like a bad paper cut and will start to feel better soon!  Smiley Happy

I was going to open a bottle of salad dressing the other day with a knife while keeping the salad dressing bottle steady on my abdomen. My husband walks into the kitchen and was shocked.  Stopped me right away and opened it for me.  Though I've done it plenty of times, after seeing this I'll be more careful.

Sorry this happened to you.  Wishing you a fast and full recovery.

Sorry thay happened to you. I cut myself a couple weeks ago looking for a knife in  my kitchen drawer. I found one. Sliced my middle finger. I'm on blood thinners and it took awhile to stop bleeding. Like you, washed, peroxide, alcohol pads and antiseptic bandage which I had to change a few times. Hope yours heals up quickly.

I hope you heal fast and the pain subsides soon.  I feel your pain, since I am just horrible with knives and scissors.  I have literally impaled my palm with a fork stabbing a potato to bake it.  Sharp utensils and I are NOT a good match lol.  I also sliced my toe open trying to measure my slider with a metal tape measure.  I was alone so I used my foot (which was bare) to hold down one end of the tape...well as I stretched up, it slipped and when it retracted, it sliced my toe wide open.  Yeah...I try not to chop stuff.  I tend to gravitate to the pre-chopped items in the grocery store LOL.  Needless to say, I have well stocked first aid box!!!

@Anonymous032819

Hope the healing is well underway !

Whenever I have a plastic " clamshell " package to cut open, I use a special pair of snips which I keep next to my scissors.  The snips, which I got from the Q a few years ago, are extremely sharp and do not need much pressure to cut through sturdy plastic.

Thank goodness I bought several pairs: DH likes to " borrow " them and forgets to put them back !  I have one pair hidden in my clothes closet that he isn't getting, lol !
