Sorry but it's hard not to be suspicious about all of the giveaways and bribery surrounding the vaccine.

Saw a commercial last night with John Legend laying it on thick about how everyone needs to do the responsible thing and do their part in getting the vaccine.

The more bribery I hear about, the more resolve I have to abstain from the vaccine.

Plenty of drugs were tested, retested, then tested again for years, finally released into the market, then a couple of years later become subject to lawsuits because of their danger. The COVID vaccine has been tested for months only.

I'll pass.

I'm moving on with my life. I'm just glad to feel so relieved. I have vaccinated family visiting this month and I don't have to worry about Covid because we will be safe. I had dinner with friends and we didn't have to sit outside. Life is good again.

I haven't experienced any weird side effects and neither has anyone I know. So in my experience the whole thing is a non-event just like my flu shot.

The unvaccinated folks still sound anxious to me. The writing style is tense. I hope you guys stay safe and don't get sick. I look at footage from India and Brazil and it turns my stomach. People of all ages and health conditions. Young and old. Sick and healthy. Makes you realize the disease will come for anyone if it gets the chance.

Unvaccinated people now have to stay safe without the benefit of people wearing masks or social distancing. Lots of unvaccinated people are going maskless and refusing to socially distance. And any of them can be asymptomatic carriers. You have to assume all of them are infected and contagious and keep your distance if you are unvaccinated and hope to avoid infection.

I think lotteries like this are there to persuade the persuadable and the extremely busy. Those of you who are dead set on your choices are left out and not included in the lotteries. Everyone knows you are committed to your position for the foreseeable future. No point in incenting you when there are plenty of people for whom it makes much more sense to spend the time and effort.

Well I'd like to win a hunting license:  that would eliminate one hunter this season!

Those who have gotten the vaccine are gambling on the long term safety of it. There is no way to accurately predict what the outcome will be long term since it is innovative.

The testing has all been short term and drugs that were tested and got approval later were found harmful and taken off the market.

The vaccine is not a drug but it affects the immune system to create antibodies. Sometimes antibodies go rogue and attack healthy cells.

Those who choose not to be vaccinated are gambling on not getting COVID, No way to accurately predict the effects of having COVID, Especially long term.

All viruses (including COVID) attack healthy cells, it’s how they live.  Nothing new here.

Those who choose not to be vaccinated are gambling equallyIt is a decision we each can make for ourselves.

Did you think this way of the regular flu vaccine too? Nope, probably not.  The way this vaccine is being pushed is extremely scary.  I am not taking a vaccine and a small minute chance of winning a lottery does not appeal to me at all. I can just play the regular lottery if I'm that hard up.

@KellKats

Not that I owe you a response, but yes, I think about EVERY vaccine as a risk / reward.  I am not one to be confused by conspiracy theory, or happy talk.  You do not speak for me.

As for your comment about lotteries, Your decision about them is of no interest to me.

@suzyQ3, hopefully this "big fat lottery" is being offered to all those homeless folks that you have living on the streets in San Francisco, the beaches of L.A. and elsewhere in your state. LOL!

Why wouldn't it? As long as they get vaccinated. And our outreach to the homeless and other folks in underserved areas is going gangbusters.
