Sterling, china and crystal.  I love to use it all but probably won't do much entertaining in the future, and haven't for quite awhile.  It is hard to let it go when you still enjoy it.

Stress. And, no, exercise doesn't help. I just stress out about the exercise itself. Fortunately, I kind of like stress....I just need to manage it better.

@Goldengate8361 I hear you.  I have had to learn to let go of stress at least to some degree.

Photos! I have so many photo albums and even though they all mean something to me, someday no body will want them.

Bottles of nail polish.  I have a collection that can rival a small nail salon.  💅

Clothing, shoes, handbags --- anything related to fashion!  I form a strong bond with these things.  Why-- I don't know.  Maybe because I choose things with care and not just buy things to throw on.  I know I have way too much and more than I will ever wear. I did purge a ton of things when I retired a couple years ago.  I now realize that so much of my things I will never have the opportunity to wear again because frankly --- where do I go???  But since I can still fit in these things, they are in perfect condition and I really love them, I still cannot at this time part with them!  And also, it's a big task to go through everything.  Trying things on and sorting, etc.  Well, I will --- someday!

Nothing.  It took me a long time to realize, it is just stuff.

Pretty much everything!!!   Even when I know I want to get rid of certain things, rather than doing it right away, I procrastinate.  Then with clothing I think - sure I might need that black with sequin trim flare leg jumpsuit and the platform sequin sandals again some day - even though it is 2 sizes smaller than I am now.  My SO is the same and worse.  He has 3 sizes of clothing and at least 80 or more jackets some he has never worn and bank statements from 30 years ago!!

Re: I Am Not Good at Getting Rid of. . . What?

There is nothing like downsizing to force the issue of purging us of unnecessary stuff. But I do have an attachment to nice boxes that can house things discreetly so my visitors are unaware.

An example: I have collected decorative boxes that look like old world books. Inside might be office supply staples or greeting cards.

So when I purchase something that comes in a unique box, I have a hard time just tossing it. I decorate boxes so they look like a piece of art rather than a functional container to house my junk stuff. 😄
