I don't know where I've been.  I just saw this on the MSN homepage. They are calling it a "catastrophic hurricane."

@Lipstickdiva  Don't feel "out of the loop."  I read Patricia was a tropical storm early Thursday.  She just erupted into a Cat 5 hurricane.

I'm very concerned about these people in the path of the storm.  Some are hunkered down in hotels near the coastline with provisions and medical kits.  Not only do they need to contend with the winds, but the flooding and landslides too.  This is very bad.

There that black hole is again....now it is called a hurricane.

Scary its a #5 and headed right where we are headed.

Might find nothing there on land.   Even it if turns to a #4 it is still going to remove buildings, businesses and homes.

I guess I will find out up close and very personal.

Round and round we go where it stops no one knows.

@Puzzle Piece,  Don't worry the hurricane will be past before we arrive.

What is a bummer the Hacienda Ranch with home cooked food might not be there.

And the wonderful Tropical Birds retreat might be carried away, or their beautiful feathers might be gone from their cute bodies, or they might die from being so scared.

The sweet perfect camels might be carried away, or too scared to go for the wonderful peaceful walk on the beach;  while I get to ride for the dream ride with them on the beach.   I love camel's sweet face and cute knees and how they walk.  To me they are just perfect.  Love them.

Bless the animals... and that involves the humans too.

@onewhiteSparrow You may be visiting devastation.  Hopefully, the animals will also be evacuated.  Those in the wild won't fair well.  Humane efforts will be needed.

To this day, there are people who have never recovered from Hurricane Andrew.  This storm is slated to be even worse.

DFW TX Report: 5 1/2 " rain today

Raining again now

Flash flooding

Police put on an "extra dive team" for overnight for water rescues

Over the weekend, another 5 1/2" rain

I'm a bit nervous about this hurricane especially for land to the south

@Puzzle Piece,  We have time to watch the News to see what has been damaged.  And to see if even the town is left and what about the roads; are they OK to travel?

Right now everything is set to Go.

One thing for sure we are darn lucky that this happened now and not while we were to be there.   Time was sure on our side.

We will know more later...calls will be placed to check to see if its safe to go....now or later...but even later will anything be there?

Sounds like the storm will mostly affect Mexico.  Which means U.S. news outlets will mostly ignore it.  Smiley Mad

FOX News on Direct TV is covering it.    They are talking with some people located there.   They have cameras at different locations and ever so often they show what is happening.
