As a kid I remember the hurricanes back east.  Glad I don't live there anymore.

With all those cases of bottled water, throw the bottles into the freezer and they will keep everything cold and they do not take up as much room as jugs of water.  When needed to drink, take one or two out to defrost.  Works really well and easy, too!

Our forecast says rain (from Helene...that's how big she is) will be felt in Maryland. Despite it turning North West.  Wow what a nasty storm she is.

All the latest news reports are reporting it is traveling northeast.

Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia and of course Florida have all declared states of emergency.

Tennessee has major school closings. All schools closed in NC on Friday.

I was glad to read that many in Fl went to shelters including with their pets. Some couldn't find a hotel 2 hours away.

I just hope all that needed to were able to evacuate!

The worse is over in our area...we were blessed.

Coastline still facing high tidal flooding.  That won't affect us.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Continued with plans to visit Pigeon Forge since hotel would not refund.  Raining and river running behind hotel is up to banks.  No way would we park in lower lot - found spot on high side.  Heard schools closed today as well as Dollywood.  I sure would love to see the beauty in the area.

Really heavy rain at my house in north metro Atlanta for the last few hours. A flash flood warning has been issued for my immediate area, but it didn't say what was flooding.

Power outages being report here and lots of other reports about lights flickering.

And we are hours away from the storm reaching us.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
