@Zhills Be safe!  They are worried that we are going to be on the right side of the storm too and that's the most dangerous.

We took everything in last night except for some furniture that I'll put in the garage tonight after the cars are inside.

All of our neighbors haven't done a thing which is interesting to me.

Not to me!  I posted on our local FB page that Debby wasw not a "hurricane" and was chastised for it!!!  But it caused some deaths!  That doesn't make it a hurricane...just warns you to be extra cautious during a real hurricane!

The storm that dumped 12" of rain in NC in 12 hours was not even a hurricane...just a Tropical Wave!

Hurricanes are worse!  They don't want to hear it!  They think they have already been there..done that...with Debby!

@Zhills It doesn't shock me either. These people that live in private bubbles that they think a tropical cyclone won't break amaze me.

I never, ever thought I was impervious to Mother Nature, but go on with your bad selves.

I say just wave as they or their property fly by your window. Bonus points if you spray paint 'I told you so' on your boarded house.

They just issued a tropical storm warning for North Georgia a few minutes ago.  @Laura14

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@gidgetgh Thank you! You have been my personal emergency broadcast system. Heart Last I saw we were still under a watch. For some reason I thought you were closer to Atlanta, but you and I are at eye level with one another. We are ready to go here. Everything is in the garage. Hope you are set as well. 🙏

My area of NC too @gidgetgh.  They think this is the first time for western NC.

Now told to expect 8-10 inches of rain but a slight shift will put this area at the 10-20 inches.

Doesn't help you any but I'm thankful that there is a very slight shift to the west.  Still inside the cone but not as deep.  Hope the shift at least holds but would be happier if the westerly shift continues.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

@Laura14 - as set as I can be.  A little on edge.  They're now saying possible gusts of 85 mph.  And it's going to be here overnight tomorrow night. Going to be a long, long, possibly scary night.

Will get an update at 11 pm.  Latest says Helene could be a Cat 4 by the time it makes landfall!  Cat 4!!!

It is staying far enough west to benefit us...right now!

Will post if anything changes!  Stay safe! Think positive!
