@Laura14 : Glad you are ok.
I just looked out my back window. Our wood privacy fence leaning over andbroken in sections. We have a chain link fence behind it. The house behind us is rental and the yard and trees in bad shape.
Fence should have been replaced but then covid and high price of lumber.
I was surprised that back yard wasn't covered with a lot of limbs. My problems are nothing compared to what so many other people are dealing with and needing so much help and support.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

We are extremely windy and wet with a lot of road debris, but I made it into work. Probably going to be an early day. Most of my coworkers are not here and my boss didn't expect me in.
Looks like it wasn't as intense as they said it was going to be although we still have 13 weather warnings going, mainly floods and tropical alerts.
I feel bad for the Carolinas who got a surprise based on what we were all told it should have been and where it should have been.
Hope everyone there is doing okay.

@JudyL Me either! My boss came in five minutes later and asked me why I was here today. I took his advice around noon and left after half a day. ![]()

WTH???
Isnt Asheville North Carolina quite a bit inland??
I was only half watching News pics today, I thought they said were of Asheville, N.Car with water up to & over the very roof of many edifices, no kidding.
And whole, complete houses floating down the deep water!
Is this true? or was I imagining it?

Requesting prayers, please. I live in the Asheville area. We were without power for two days but it has been restored. One of my sons and his partner are okay, though they are without power, water and cell service and expect to be for some time.
My younger son, his wife and my 3 year old granddaughter live in a more rural area which has been devasted by flooding. We have no way to contact them and all the roads are flooded, washed away or blocked by trees. I'm trying to remain postive and expect that they are okay, but the fact is that we don't know and it's very, very hard. I will be sure to update when we hear from them.
Thank you.
Update Monday 9/30: We're all accounted for. My kids came walking through my door yesterday afternoon and are unharmed. Though the road to their property is completely washed away, the neighbors rallied together to remove cement and trees to create a backroads way out of the area. My kids are lucky to live on a hill, but several of their neighbors homes were washed down river and those residents are unaccounted for at this time. We are very blessed to all be safe and sound, despite the difficult inconveniences that will surely continue for months, perhaps years to come. However, MANY people were not so lucky. I expect the death toll to rise dramatically once the water recedes and recovery efforts are able to begin in full swing. Thank you all for your prayers and concern for everyone affected by this terrible storm.
