I posted this on viewpoints but thought I would share it here as well.
saw the midnight showing. here is my review
It is not graphic. There are a few kill scenes but they are not blood and guts type of a kill. Most kids have been exposed to far worse on TV. If you do not let your kids watch that kind of thing, then don't see this movie cause it would be disturbing for them.
The first part of the movie the camera is very shaky and quite annoying. Fortunately it settles down about midway through but there are still moments of the shakiness throughout the whole thing.
The movie felt very rushed, if I hadn't read the books, I wouldn't have understood what some parts were about.
The acting is supberb, I wish Haymitch's character(Woody Harrelson) would have been a little more developed. As well as Gale's relationship with Katniss. Three of us read the book and saw the movie last night and thought the movie was just OK. It's good but not as good as it could have been.
Also, they could have done the outfits better that were on fire for the introductions of the tributes. I was expecting to be awed but it looked very fake
