Re: How to prepare for a Hurricane - from the FB of the Weather Channel

My husband and I spent the day trimming trees in our neighborhood along with some of the neighbors.  A couple had some dead branches near their roof, and one big dead branch has been hanging near an intersection, so we didn't want to take any chances.  It's been windy today.  Although the brunt of the storm is expected to stay along the coast, we're preparing for any wind and rain.  If we get anything, it's supposed to be Friday night or Saturday morning.

We live about 2 1/2 - 3 hours from Charleston and Myrtle Beach.  Some good friends moved to an oceanfront property a few months ago, and we've asked them to come stay with us, but they said they're going to stay there and wait out the storm (like many of their neighbors are doing). 😟

Keeping everyone in Matthew's path in my prayers.

@wildcat fan  I hope the storm stays far off the coast, but if not, I hope it doesn't hit at high tide; that would be a disaster with a bad storm surge.  I hope you can convince your friends to move inland.  Stay safe!
