My doctor told me to limit people in the home to two to help me - for the first two weeks, due to risk of infection.

As I literally need people who are strong enough to help me walk, that will have to be DD and DS.

Ok, I am a big fat liar.

I don't think you will be able to keep her away indefinately.

She doesn't want to keep her away indefinitely.  And that's another reason the sister needs to back off.  Her help is not being rejected.  The OP just doesn't want it that early in the recovery process.  Her sister should understand and respect that.  She's making it about herself when it should be about the OP.

@Retired Legal Secretary
If your sister has cellulitis with actively weeping wounds, she would be a contact infection risk to you in the days immediately after surgery. For example, if you were both in the hospital at the same time, you would not be put in the same room.

I don’t like to give RN advice but perhaps this could convince her to stay home until you are further along in your recovery.
