Hi, @qualitygal ! I was in third grade in Catholic grade school when our nun teacher came in and told us that Kennedy had been shot. My earliest memory. We lived in Dallas at the time.

This is another topic subject that is somewhat clouded. I thought it was a quiz.

I was two when Kennedy was assassinated so my memory of any President in office was President Johnson. I was young but I loved even at the age of 5 years old watching the news every single night. I still remember how upset my Mom was when we watched Johnson announce he would not accept the nomination. The 1968 election was my first grade year and I wanted Nixon to win and voted for him in our mock elementary election. My Mom was horrified that afternoon when I told her and my great-grandmother how I spent my day. I still remember watching on our black and white t.v. the political coverage and heartbreak of Vietnam.

Ike! I remember standing on a street with my classmates as Ike was driven up the street waving to all of us, I think I was in first grade.

Either being home or coming home from Kindergarten and my Mom setting up a tray table in the living room so I could watch JFK's inauguration. I was only 6, fast forward about 2 years and I have vivid memories of JKF's funeral at least I think so, I have seen the news reel so many times not sure if they are real memories

@on the bay I think that those of us who have lived a half century or more, have so much information stored in our memory banks, that it may take a few seconds or minutes, to extract them.
That is my theory and I'm sticking with it!
I was 16 and watched on TV when president Kennedy died. I felt the same way as you did. We were so young and hopeful for our country, who would ever think that we would ever see such things to pass, as we have witnessed since the 60's?

@icezeus At my Catholic Girls high school, the nuns loved president Kennedy. We were all so hopeful for the future.
Look where we are now. ![]()
