Re: How's your electric bill?

Mine was $59 last month (southeast PA).  Higher than normal because I used the dehumidifier in the basement some.  Upstairs, I use fans rather than the central air.

Re: How's your electric bill?

We also are on the budget plan and pay $135 a month. I expect it to readjust to a higher rate because of 40 plus days of over 110 degrees,

Re: How's your electric bill?

Southern WV and our bill is wavering around $230.  Thermostat sits on 72 year round, and our summer temperatures are staying in the high 70's to mid 80's, but the reality is that this house is NEVER down for the night.

Gone are the days when we turned the TV off, turned the lights off, and everyone went to sleep from at least 11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.

4 adults, different schedules, and the house is more like a motel with a TV and light always on somewhere.  Our washer and dryer get quite a workout, as does the water heater, plus we have 3 refrigerators, a freezer, and 2 outdoor security lights to light up the property.  I don't complain about the electric bill.

Re: How's your electric bill?

Our gas/electric are have been running about $50 more per month than previous year. Natural gas was higher cost for winter and electric is higher because dh has been home vs at office, so air-conditioning is set lower for him. Also seem to be doing more laundry and I have no idea why that would have changed, but it has.

The power bill is still not as high as the blooming Comcast bill. Ugh...hate paying that bill.

Pretty much the same as usual despite having the AC and sometimes fans going almost 24/7.

Re: How's your electric bill?

Mine was very reasonable, I keep our AC on 78 most of the time.  We also have a summer program here in MD where we get a $25 credit each month from June thru Sept, if we sign up for Peak Rewards, a special energy saving program.

We do a budget plan year round, paying a set amount for 11 months. The 12th month (July for us) is the even up or discounted month against the balance, then the amount is adjusted for the next year.  We've done this for as long as we've lived here (over 30 yrs.).  In July, we had about $50 bucks knocked off and the new budget amount we're paying is $115/mo.

@JeanLouiseFinch

I have a similar plan. It's called the level pay plan. This months bill which is the settlement month from (July)  I owed $6.95. I am not sure what my new amount will be for the next 11 months, but since I owed so little, I am sure that it will stay around the $121.00 per month that I currently pay.

I forgot to add that I keep my thermostat on 80 when I am not in the house. When I am home, I turn on a ceiling fan and a standing fan in the living room and the lowest I will take it down to is 75 degrees. This is normally when I go to bed at night, where I have another fan in my bedroom blowing on me.
