I just don't consider myself to be that photogenic.
neither have I. Mine is lack of interest; I see my face everyday.

@maestra, I don't think your siggie is coming up the way you probably hoped. Here's what I see: br>Underestimate me.

One person I know on FB - multiple times per month, sometimes multiple times per day. It makes me crazy, because they aren't different pics in different situations or poses, it's invariably the same pose, same hair, exact same smile - same everything - three times in one day, i.e. vanity shots AFAIC. There are selfies for a purpose and there are selfie compulsions.
I just don't get that either @Moonchilde. I have never taken a selfie on my own. Only with my grandson or another person. I can't remember the last time I did that even. I have friends too on FB or instagram who do exactly what you are talking about. Sorry but I wonder about a person in their 40's who does this. To me, it is odd.
@Irshgrl31201, I don't know if there's an "official" definition of selfie, but as far as how I think about it, I don't consider a photo with other people in it a selfie - it's just a normal ordinary group photo that is now possible (where it didn't use to be possible) to take it yourself, at arm's length.
I have taken a very few, so that FB friends, not all of whom know me in real life, know what I look like. But I take lousy photos no matter who has ever taken them, and there's a knack to taking selfies that I don't have. I'd rather ask someone with me to use my phone to take one, for that purpose.
But a person who takes their own photo multiple times a day with various degrees of lip pouts, bed-hair poses, etc is a whole different reason for taking the photo, IMO. I don't get why a person would think their friends, or their family, would want to see a continuous stream of them "romancing" the camera. Eww.
Yes I realize the official definition is all by yourself but I just think that is weird to sit there and take multiple pics of yourself, many times throughout the day. I will take pics with my grandson and I because he likes to go through and look at them. While a selfie is technically a pic of yourself alone, I hear many people refer to pics taken with other people a selfie if it was taken by one of them and not a person who is not in the photo.
I agree with you about your romancing the camera comment, lmao! For some reason I think it is even weirder when a person does it and they are older. I usually see younger people (teens and 20s) who take a ton of these types of photos but I am starting to see many people in their 40s and 50s do the same. I find it disturbing when a woman (or man) who is middleaged spending that much time taking and posing for pics like that. To me it shows a lot of insecurity about themselves.

I'll admit to trying a few poses one day to see if I could make my neck look better in family pics...nope😜
I don't like cameras and rarely use one on vacations, etc.

I've taken them with my husband or with my kids on vacations. I took one of myself to show off a new hair cut.
I'm not a selfie person. Lol

Re: selfies...
I just don't get why celebrities take selfies in public restrooms...
They don't look glamorous to me...more like YUCK!

Another. "never have, never will" here.

Never; I just don't think that anyone in the future will be interested in viewing thousands of photos of me. Better to just have a few photo prints in an album so that someone 'down the line' won't have to fidget with their latest gadget. I doubt that they will have the time and/or desire. It's time-consuming, imo. Fooling around, looking for photos on a teeny screen. (lol) Though, I'm guessing that humans' eyesight will eventually evolve into being much better overall. (In the next hundred plus or so years from now.)

I think it's teenagers and Jennifer Coffey who constantly take selfies. Hers seem to end up on my Facebook page and I can't get rid of them.
