As Archie Bunker used to say, "Ya got a pernt there, Edith!" We live in a college town--I love to see the streets teeming with the brashness and exuberance of youth! And it's been many, many a moon since I've been this side of 55! Different strokes for different folks! (I did see a snappy red beret I could be talked into, though!!)

Yep, I do. I can afford it. Once again your jealousy of and animosity towards those who have more than you do is glaringly apparent. The good news is, I won't ever have to worry about you moving in next door to me.

We all get that you think that your cookie cutter condo in the cookie cutter complex next to the hospital in Englewood and RV in the summer lifestyle is superior to anything that any one else does. It's not. It's simply what you choose. Why can't you just let others be happy with what they choose?

Hey ... a friend of mine looks adorable in her red and purple on Thursdays.

Fate whispers to her, "You cannot withstand the storm." She whispers back, "I am the storm."

I can only share our experience. Our home was paid off for 3 years when we decided to buy a 2nd home. We have a small mortgage on this which we could pay off if we wanted. We have a 2005 Pontiac grand prix with 27K miles on it and a 2011 Buick Lacrosse we keep in Az.

We live off of DH's pension check. We have most of our monies in annuities and a tidy sum in his tax deferred through his job. We bought CD's when they were paying 5 to 5.5%. I doubt we will see this again in my life.

We have never gone into any of our savings other than to put the down payment on the 2nd house. That being said, DH just turned 68 so in 2 1/2 years we will HAVE to start taking money out.

We are truly blessed. DH was a bachelor for many years before we married and neither of us had kids.

I personally know of some retirees who are using up their savings tring to subsidize their adult children for whatever reason. IMO - that is not good for the children nor the parents.

Since you don't have children, why not butt out?

WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? No ....that does not count. You have to earn the right to be cranky, mean and whatever ..... unless you are just feeling like a woman that day .... then you can have every mood swing and pain you want to. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Seems to me that it would be a good idea to keep working even when you start to collect your SS checks. That way you have a large raise in pay every month. People can save major amounts of money in no time.

And what about me?

How much do I need to travel around the world? Smile

An around the world cruise costs about $35K-85K depending on the cabinSmile I've been doing some research{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Luv2, Of course we want the best suite with lots of room. Smile

Do you need to worry about this issue? Thought you had a space ship at your disposal?

Sure I have that nice fancy space ship with white and red lights, such a fancy ship too. Flashing and showing off how nice it was built... puts all our planes to shame.

But I want to travel on water. And I didn't say walk on water. LOL

Just another post so HH can pat herself on her back.

If she's happy with her life, good for her. I have no desire to live in a senior community or a camper.
