Celebrities do not influence me to buy anything, especially not beauty products. It's fake lashes, plastic surgery, camera filters, and Photoshop.

Not even in the slightest.

not at all.

A celebrity endorsement means nothing to me. I am savvy enough and read enough fashion and beauty blogs to know how those work. Especially if it's a social media blog or post with an under-the-table deal that compensates the blogger without the public knowing about it.

@I'm glad I tried it, it's a great product for me. I noticed @Irshgril said something similar recently. I do pay attention to Irshgrl, she knows what she's talking about.
Well thank you! Yes Aveeno is a good product, it has some good actives in it and also is without a lot of fragrances which can cause a loss in collagen production. A lot of derms recommend it!

Thanks for mentioning that @Irshgrl31201 ! I have had sensitive skin on and off and have had to throw away a variety of products. I have at least five different things from Aveeno and I'm so pleased. No irritation and my skin feels so soft
Oh I am so happy to hear that @Noel7. My mom has sensitive skin and rosacea and she really loves their products too. They are good. For some reason though people think if they spend $100 on a cream, they are getting a better product when I can tell you that is rarely the case. In terms of science, most of those products aren't even as cutting edge as the majority of drug store products.

I've spent a lot on cosmetics and creams over the years at high end stores, what a waste.
I also have rosacea, it comes with lupus, at least the breakouts were never too bad and it's been gone for years.
I know that most women do. Even people who are ingredient savvy get stuck in that trap. The skin care industry is very good at doing what they do. For instance, La Mer is a very expensive product. The majority of that product is made up of petroleum jelly. I don't have a problem with petro. jelly at all, it is an excellent protectant and used after many procedures by derms to protect the face. Next is mineral oil. Again, not a bad ingredient but nothing antiaging. It contains seaweed extract which is billed as a star antioxidant and it is an antioxidant but there are many more cutting edge antioxidants on the market, this one is barely considered fair. It is used in many products from cosmetics to food and is very cheap. Now all of that and they charge $155 ounce. It has a cult status that can't be explained. In terms of science it isn't even as good as Neutrogenas worst antiaging cream but for some reason a cream that cost MAYBE $1 to produce can sell for that.
I am really glad you found something that you liked and that my recommendation could have helped. I didn't realize that rosacea came with lupus. It seems so many things do, don't they?

I really don't think they influence me. I may buy something celebrity endorsed, but it's because of something about the item.

I tend to shy away from products that have a celebrity's name on the packaging, or clothes and accessories that have the brand name promenently featured on the item.
Just because someone is a celebrity, it doesn't make them an expert on something...and I cannot imagine making my own fragrance or something, and naming it after myself. That seems so odd to me.
So, honestly, if a celebrity puts their name in the name of the product, they are going to have to try harder to get me as a customer. If I see a lot of great reviews or something, then I will try something out or purchase it, but a celebrity name ON the product is usually more of a repellant than a draw for me.
If it's just an endorsement, then it's unlikely to sway me. If I think the person is particularly knowledgeable--or particularly stupid--it may sway my purchasing. Or if I just absolutely hate what a person stands for, I'll avoid using products with their name attached. Conversely, if I really admire them, I'll be more likely to try out a product they endorse.
So, yes, I would say that it influences what I buy to some degree.
