I do surveys to earn extra $ and I am posed this question quite often. As for myself...it's rare, but it does happen every once in awhile, so I'll say less than 5% of the time. So, most times, it doesn't matter to me who's face is on billboards, on the side of buses, in the subway station, or in a commercial. It's based upon if it's a product I want or need.
For example, I used to buy a few books to read by viewing Oprah's book club choices years ago.
The latest I would say is Patrick Stewart who does those commercials for Strongbow...someday before the holidays I'll pick up a pk so DH and I can try the brand. However, based upon reviews of the Strongbow, it's not all that great of a hard cider. We do enjoy Angry Orchard brand, so it will be interesting if it is better or at least comparable to our fave brand. We are just curious if Patrick Stewart would endorse a brand that isn't all that great...thinking maybe he should be endorsing Angry Orchard instead...LOL
Then I look at brands on the Q...some have celebrities endorsing them. Some brands are really good, others...not so much...
Anyone else wish to comment on the subject? ![]()

With skincare very little. The ads and commercials are so retouched it is a joke.

Celebs have no influence on my buying choices.

On a scale from 1-10, I would have to rank celebrity influence on purchasing..... a -2. I don't a diddlysquat about anything that celebrities do, say or sell.

Really has no influence on what I buy, but it does reinforce my choices when I see someone "famous" wearing things I like to wear.

NO influence at all. Too many have questionable backgrounds and a lack of education. Why on earth would I be influenced by them?

Celebrities hawking stuff is a total turn-off to me. Even Ellen Degeneres hawking her products on the Q sets my teeth on edge. How much money does she really need that she has to sell cha-chas? I say to companies that use celebrities to boost sales, please knock it off, use an unknown actor and drop the price of whatever you want me to buy. Whew, I feel better.
