Re: How many times have you dropped your dinner plate

I dropped an entire plate of food one time and the plate shattered, glass all in the food.

Another time with a Thanksgiving meal and my green bean casserole I was putting the lid on my Pyrex cookware when it slipped out of my hand and landed so hard on the dish the lid shattered shards of tiny glass into my green beans.  Turkey just did not taste the same without my side.

Only once.  One evening, I was not feeling well and decided to have some buttered toast and tea while I watched some television.  I had just had new carpet installed about a week before.  Somehow, I caught my toe and the toast flew off the plate and, of course, landed buttered side down.  I tried to clean it with Folex and that took the color out of the carpet.  So, I lived with an ugly spot until I sold the house.  I just didn't have the heart to have all of the furniture moved and the carpet replaced again.

My current house has all hard surface flooring.

Re: How many times have you dropped your dinner plate

I remember when I was 19 and had a first date with a guy who took me to a very expensive steak restaurant. I had on this new suede jacket and skirt and when I went to cut the steak (my first steak ever) it squirted juice all over my jacket.

I was so embarrassed with this big stain but he was a nice guy and laughed it off. I felt like a hick who didn't know how to eat in public.

The bat had gotten into the basement and then flew up into the kitchen.

It was very frightening! That's another story all in it's own.

@PepperMintTea ...Yikes..a bat!..We had a bird fly into our house one time when we opened our sliding door in the dining area..The poor thing landed on the floor and froze and I was able to get a small plastic container and slowly place it over the bird and then slid the top under and took the precious bird back outside...So I was lucky that everything went so smoothly.

Unfortunately, I doubt it worked out as smoothly for you...I can't even begin to imagine!

Re: How many times have you dropped your dinner plate

While at a party that my husbands ex was at, i was trying my best to look cool and put together. Well I had a plate of food  and walked right in to a screened door and food went flying everywhere. It knocked me back a bit from the impact. Needless to say I blew it! Not cool!

I don't recall ever dropping my dinner plate with dinner on it.  Large items I can handle but smaller items I am all thumbs. I drop my dinner utensils often. Does that count? I can't seem to hold on to anything anymore.
