How long can you go without spending any money?

My sister and I were discussing how many days we have gone without spending any money, as in using cash or a cc to buy something.

Did not include paying household bills like electric, gas or mortgage or paying on CC.

I have probably gone a couple of weeks if my groceries are stocked up and I haven't driven much.

Sometimes many months go by where I don't buy any clothing or household items that are not food products.

A tank of gas and groceries seems to call to my wallet most often.

Very rarely will I go a day without spending on something. But from what I deduce from reading many posts is I am in a much different life stage than most of you.

@scatcat My daughter says she spends money on coffee every day she works , even though she can make coffee at home.

I guess if you work and are not retired, you have more opportunities and places to spend money.

I can go a couple of weeks, if I have enough groceries, dog food, and household necessities on hand.

It's been much easier to go days without spending since retiring because I just don't need or use clothing and accessories like I did when working. A a result, I have lost my desire to shop as often as I used to.

My limit is about 2 weeks too. The only things I need are groceries and gas. I don't use as much gas now that I'm retired. I used to fill up my gas tank weekly and now I only fill it once a month.
