Re: How is it in your neck of the woods?

In the "cool" green mountains, it's full sun, 84 degrees with a low of 60.

Re: How is it in your neck of the woods?

Mid 90's all day.  I went out around noon to pick up some watermelon and to get a pedi but it was too darn hot to sit in nail salon with all those fumes.  The shop I go to on Sundays is not air conditioned. The use big fans but that wouldn't do much on a day like today.  So, I came home and relaxed in the air conditioning all day.

OR coast is perpetual winter. The most we can hope for is high 50's this week, again.

I'm going to visit deeva's town. Must have sun.

I live in the upper midwest.  We've been breaking heat records right and left the last few years.  Our last few winters have been a breeze with minimal cold and snow.   Something  big is changing.

The dog's already been out for his walk.

@just bee...I lived in ABQ in the early-mid 90's and ❤️❤️❤️ the climate!

@SurferWife

We moved here in 1995.  Yes, climate is one of the five things that keeps me from calling the realtor and blowing this pop stand.

Yes, one is climate; two is the scent of Russian olive blossoms in the spring; three is the hot air balloons; four is my dog has never known a flea; and five is...  five is...

@just bee  @SurferWife....... Five is no state auto inspection, six no ****** roaches, seven use of swamp coolers which are cheap to operate, no snow to shovel, four distinct seasons.

And the big one:  Mountains!

@Kachina624

When we moved here we had crickets.  I felt like I was camping every night.  We had decided to buy a house on the west side of the river because we heard the horror stories about "the roaches."

One day I heard someone say, "Keep an eye on the crickets.  When they're gone, that's when you'll see the roaches."  No truer words.  You're further west, but they're coming your way.  The good news: They're not like the UNM roaches.  You know, the ones you can saddle up and ride?

Don't get me started on swamp coolers.

I'll give you points for four seasons and mountains.  I was thinking about green chile (I'd miss it) and our big sky.  I still enjoy our sunrises, our sunsets, and skies that are so blue they look fake.

And I like that we have hills.  This is not a flat city.

Now if we could only get rid of the tumbleweeds...

@just bee  I dearly love my swamp cooler having paid $300-400 monthly bills six months a year in Texas.  Everytime some service guy suggests refrigerated air, I laugh.

I don't have crickets or roaches or mosquitos.
