How heavy is your bag?

The thread asking how many bags you carry got me thinking. How heavy is your bag? I swear when I was in my 20s, fanny pack days, everything I needed fit in there. I carried a walkman, keys and a wallet. I never understood a large bag...fast forward...

Now, I carry a large leather tote bag-

vaccum sealed 21 oz water (this is the heaviest thing in there)

phone

lunch

wallet

it weighs just under 10 pounds - I don't even carry a hair brush or makeup except for hand lotion and a lip balm.

Wallet, keys, cell phone - so whatever that weighs.

I make sure it's a light weight bag when I buy it. Even though I don't carry a lot in it, I don't want to start out with a heavy bag.

I have tried to downsize my bag contents, because it does bother me these days, but I'm hopeless, I just keep adding things.

I'm not one of those "oh, it's so heavy' girls when it comes to bags and I do like leather bags. I do carry a lot but it's not too heavy. I carry a bottle of water but now I carry a chubby 8oz, I have my pouch which is my wallet, my phone, a protein bar, 2 packs of my protein shake mix, a small hand lotion, lipstick, a pack of tissues, my glasses. A light sweater or shawl in the summer.....and that's it, I think. It's a lot but I need all of it if I'm going to be out and about for the day.

I try to keep it light but it still seems somewhat heavy to me. I have an organizer handbag so I don’t need an extra wallet; however, all the little extras add up - comb, mirror, tissues, medication, phone, etc.

I don't know how much it weighs, but enough so that it hurts my shoulder! I try to limit what I take with me, but I swear I need everything in my bag! I don't know how some people are okay with carrying these little tiny bags, I wish I could!

Maybe a couple of pounds.

I have my wallet, sunglasses case, keys and a small cosmetics bag with some miscellaneous items.

I hate dragging around a lot of stuff...

LIGHT as light as possible. Last summer I purged my purses of everything that was heavy - and I went to almost always carrying light weight fabric bags.I do find that when I have a bag that needs me to use a purse organizer it makes the bag much heavier.

I have a niece who carries large sums of money for her job so thus she has to carry a gun. At work the gun is open & exposed in a shoulder holster but when she leaves work it goes into her purse. OMG - it is SO HEAVY. I just know that one day she is going to have neck or shoulder issues.
