I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say Christmis. I’ve only ever heard an unaccented schwa sound.  I’ve lived in the Midwest, plains and the southwest.

What a perfect post for an insomnia type of night .

After completing my own mini-self-research I've concluded that when speaking I say "-miss" but when singing I use "-muss".

Try a few lines of White Christmas and see if singing makes a difference
