The thickening of chili thread made me decide to start this thread.
Chili is one of those dishes that can be fixed in so many different ways.
Please share yours.
3-4 lbs of "chili grind" hamburger (I like more meat than beans)
1/2 jar of mild hot peppers
1 large onion-sliced (peppers and onions placed on top)
2-3 small cans of kidney beans
ketchup
chili powder
sugar
I put the hamburger, onions and peppers and half of the jar of pepper juice into a large skillet.Don't stir, just lay the onions and peppers on top. Cover...medium heat until the meat is mostly done. I then break the hamburger apart and finish cooking with no lid. The onions are almost gone and the pepper juice is in the meat.
I add the beans. Then the ketchup, stir, add ketchup, stir...
until it's to my liking.
Add chili powder to taste.
Add sugar to taste.
Cover and simmer.
What's your recipe?
Thanks
