Happy birthday 151949 and others who share it.  Funny you should mention the "strip district" as that's just where I'm headed in a few minutes with DD. We too love going there and shopping. I'm going to get a new Steelers flag for the front porch, as mines a little tattered. Then to wholeys for some oysters to make oyster stew for dinner. 

Its cold here today, but beautifully sunny.

Since I didn't post here on my birthday, I guess I like to spend it away from the Q board.

Since my birthday is in Jauary and I live in the Midwest, I usually don't leave the house on my birthday. We seem to either have a blizzard or sub-zero temperatures. The safest place is usually home.

My birthday was last Tuesday, December 29. I'm not a big party person at all. The only thing I do is to make sure I don't have to work then! I went out to eat at my favorite restaurant (Mexican) and then went shopping with my mom. Family and friends called me and sent cards and messages, which I very much appreciate.

Happy birthday to all celebrating. VF, I wish you well and am hoping for a happy, healthy, prosperous year for us all.

Happy Birthday @151949! I like to go out for a nice meal! Usually me and my best friend take each other out on our birthdays somewhere fairly nice, sometimes my husband comes along too! We always get dessert!

Oh I'm jealous. I want to come with you. While your there could you get me some macaroons? Do you go to Prestogeorge? And Parma sausage? And and and could you send me a Steelers Jersey and  and some crab from wholeys and oh yeah - have lunch at Permanti's. Did you ever go to the rest room at Permanti's? It's a real experience - in the basement - I do not recommend it. I guess I'm a little homesick today. We will get down there when we are up for the summer. There should be a lot of Steeler energy there today.

My birthday is the beginning of next month.  Big month for cold and snow where we live.

How I would like to spend it and how I actually spend it are vastly different.

My husband usually gets me flowers and asks where I would like to go to dinner.  I usually pick some place local and casual. I don't care to get dressed up.

How I would like to spend it would be a day trip to Phipps Conservatory, Carnegie Science Center, or visit the strip district, stop at Trader Joes or Whole Foods.

I have drivers' anxiety and rely on DH to do the driving to non local locations and if he doesn't feel like taking me, I am stuck.  With his knee bothering him he doesn't want to go anywhere which will involve a lot of walking.  I'm glad I did a lot of living in my younger days.

Today is also mine. A friend treated me to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. My nephew  treated me to lunch on Sunday. Hope you all have a good day.

About a hundred years ago I worked for a company that gave each employee their birthday off.  I always thought that was a great policy.  Since Better-half and I have birthdays only one day apart, I schedule my vacation time that week.  I just don't want to go to work on my birthday.  I want that day to do whatever I want to do.  Even if that means I'm doing nothing.
