How do you get your cats to eat Pumpkin, if you use it?

If any of you add canned pumpkin to your cat food, how do you get the cats to eat it?

I picked some up last night, tried about a teaspoon, less then a tablespoon added to the canned. (Actually, hidden underneath, lol).

My male, Aja, ate it reluctantly - I had to add dry on top. Robbie kept walking away, I added more dry on top of the canned cat food with pumpkin and he just nibbled and left.

Both my males have been having looser stool lately. Not really bad, but softer. With Robbie, it's getting to be a problem - he stands on one leg when he goes. (Both fronts up on edge of box, even if it's covered or open. Then lifts one rear leg, so he's standing on one). His "movement" tends to bounce off the back of his inner leg, and with it being softer - it's getting messy. I've had to get baby wipes to clean the "P-o-o off his withers", as we call it, lol. I'm not sure if it's food related. The only thing in common, BOTH boys eat is Blue Buffalo dry. (for snack, am/pm). I'm wondering if it's the vitamin bits that is bothering them. My female is usually the opposite - she needs hairball every couple of days, she never has loose issues.

Is there another option besides pumpkin that's good? What is the stuff I'm heard mentioned that you sprinkle on food? Was it flaxseed, or something?

thanks!
