@msh8970, get yourself a pylon.  Nevermind the signs.  Those who are using your driveway will claim they didn't see it anyway lol.  LM

I think you are right! I sign is easier for me to find, but a pylon definitely will work better.

Thanks!

And I do not mind an occasional turn around, people make the wrong turn, forgot something at their house/have to go back and get it; delivery people getting lost in this large neighborhood, etc. But every day, and doing so, especially so carelessly, umm...no.

I'm not sure what the emoji is in your post...all I see is a square.  Is it my browser that causes that?  I see little squares like that now and then, and I don't know what the symbol or emoji is that's supposed to be there.

Re: How do you feel about no turn around signs for driveway?

If you've never dealt with this you have no idea what a problem it is. I live in a country sub & I have the only drive that is wide at the street. I get turn arounds from garage trucks, UPS, dump trucks, school bus, semi's that deliver drapery materials & Amway to neighbors, landscaping trailers, motorcycles & I could go on & on. The lawn has been damaged, the driveway curb broken & the mailbox has been knocked down so many times I've lost track. Tried the No Turn sign but it was ignored so I put up 2 posts with a chain across my driveway that I have to admit is not convenient for me but it's put an end to others thoughtlessness. Someone even left a note complaining that they could no longer access my driveway for their turn arounds & how mean that was...Oh, some people.

@msh8970, a no turn around sign will likely have little effect, particularly on the woman that parks in your driveway.  I would suggest looking into a no trespassing sign which could have the force of law behind it.

Contact your local PD or Sheriff's office.  Explain the situation and the danger of her backing out and that it is a daily school day occurrence.  Then, ask them if you post a no trespassing sign can and will they ticket the offender.  The woman would be easy to get since she is more or less on a schedule.  The ticket (and possible fine) should put a stop to it.

The eyes through which you see others may be the same as how they see you.

Re: How do you feel about no turn around signs for driveway?

Thought -

Not sure how wide your driveway is, but -

Get 3-4 traffic cones, drill holes in them so they can be linked as a line, not driven between or knocked over, and connect them with rope. Put the whole thing across your driveway during "after school" hours. Put something inside the cones like small sandbags so they will weigh.

That should stop any but the deliberately rude and eff ewe people, who probably nothing could stop anyway.

@mistriTsquirrel, it is a big smilie face.  I was laughing thinking about the car trying to park in the mini spot.

After this post and all the replies, I am now thinking of opening a pylon supply business marketing to people who live on deadend streets or facing similar issues adjacent to their property.  You and @msh8970 can be my first customers.  You have to laugh.

I belong to the group that thinks you don't trespass on someone else's property, especially if the result is property damage or worse!  LM

@kitcat51, I am adding you to my new client list.  Your situation is identical to mine.  They love my wide, clear, paved driveway.  I don't have one, I have three big pylons!  LM

Re: How do you feel about no turn around signs for driveway?

@mistriTsquirrel that is a big smiley that the other poster, posted. Sorry that happened to you. But people are so odd, like your experience, I do not want something to happen to her or her car and somehow be responsible. And seeing the way she drives, well, not cool. And also, like I said, I have to wonder if she would be okay with someone doing the same thing to her driveway every day. *shrug*

I suppose I could let the hubby handle it. Guarantee she won't do it again........

One of these days he will be home at the time she does this and will see her and one look at how she drives and all.... yeah.. it won't happen again, I can guarantee. Her driving a small child scares me. But.. none of my business...
