Re: How do you feel about leaf blowers?

I answered your post earlier but now I don't see it.    LawnMaster 12 amp blower/vac,  I found it at  Walmart online last year but when I looked earlier, I didn't see one.   But when I googled, one came up at Target.

We all have lawn services in the neighborhood. Very annoying when sitting outside with company as they are very loud. However, it's the price you pay for not having to rake an acre with tons of trees.

The leaves are falling once again and the leaf blowers are out in full force. I don't like them for many reasons. The dust they create is dangerous to our health! The blowers stir up things like bird and rodent droppings, mold, bacteria...and other gross things like pesticides and herbicidesSmiley Tongue. The noise is another thing!

I don't go outside if any of my neighbors are using their blowers. Wish these leaf blowers become banned one day.

I HATE LEAF BLOWERS WITH A PASSION.  THEY MUST GO.  WE MUST RID OUR SOCIETY OF LEAF BLOWERS......

that's what I think.

Re: How do you feel about leaf blowers?

Well, if blowers are ever banned, I'd be in big trouble. No one near us ever uses leaf blowers, chain saws early in the morning . I live on almost 10 acres , very long drive way, long walkway, front and side, concrete patio (20x40-50), plus upper deck , then front porch, parking area. If I had to sweep with a broom , it would take couple of hours. Anyone blowing can always wear a mask. We use a John Deer bagged mower and we certainly need that. We are fortunate that no one in family has allergies.

Leaf blowers are useless because they just blow the stuff around. What good is that? Rake and bag it, pick it up with the mower, or hire someone to do it.

Outside, they are fine; just don't try cleaning the living room with one.

In my neighborhood everyone does hire a lawn company. They use leaf blowers. Our leaves are blown in our woods in the back yard. Neighbor across the street lives in a different town and lawn company blows them towards the street where the town picks them up.

Smallest yards here are half an acre and very woodsy, so lots of leaves and leaf blowers are blowing all the time in the fall.

Re: How do you feel about leaf blowers?

I think, for the most part, that the use of leaf blowers out in the country or in places where there are vast areas that need cleaned then it would seem unavoidable. I don't have the luxury and benefit of living in those kinds of places. My area consists of hundreds of homes placed side-by-side in suburbia-land. When leaf blowing happens here it can get rather dusty to say the least. I stay inside.

Re: How do you feel about leaf blowers?

You blow, instead of RAKE, then bag.

In my small yard, I blow starting at the outer edges of my yard, eventually getting it all in a pile in the center of my yard, then mulch & bag.   I don't do it every day or even every week.   What's the point?  I wait until most of the leaves have fallen.

A leaf blower is indispensible for landscaped areas or areas where raking is difficult.

There are so many other noises in my neighborhood, I hardly hear them anymore.
