Re: How do you feel about California ?

I'm not about to insult Cal nor the people that live there.

I like where I live now and would never move anywhere else.

Why does it have to be a negative thing?  People posting here have feelings too, and insulting their state is rude and mean

I have never been there.  I wouldn't mind visiting.  My mother went a number of years ago for about six months and loved it.   From what I have read, the high cost of living, including taxes, would take it out of the running for consideration as a retirement location for me.
Do the math.

I don't do the competitive, jealousy, type stuff.

I love California.  It is a wonderful, beautiful state.   I see a fair amount of disdain from some here about people from CA.    It's silly, so I take it for what it is.   We are not bad for being from CA.   I guess it's the 'thing' now, so I just shake my head.  Smiley Happy

We have been to California many times, my husband's company is in Palo Alto.  So many beautiful places to visit.  Loved San Francisco, Carmel, Monterey Bay.

The ocean views and redwood forests are beautiful.  The wine is tasty.  The Reagans  were very happy living there.

Re: How do you feel about California ?

I lived in San Francisco for 4-1/2 years.  I lived in SF for two weeks when the 7.1 earthquake hit.  OMG!  There are too many natural disasters in CA, yes, it is very scenic but not worth the cost of living there.  LA area is a pit.  Any areas by the ocean have to deal with fog and you think it's raining when the fog is heavy in LA area and SF.  I was happy to come back to solid ground.  I think CA is a nice place to visit.  Also, if you live around the LA you better earn big bucks so as you age you can afford plastic surgery!  Very superficial in that area.  SF is more laid back and has many areas that are nice to live in.  Cat Very Happy

The OP is just an excuse to bash something. If it's not dogs it's hospitals or "people who..." or something else. I'm sure she wants CA residents to get all hot and bothered about the thread and get verbally combative, but, I'm not going to play.

I suppose we could say it's at least a break from her hate of dogs and dogs in grocery stores.

I can't imagine someone hating an entire state.  That kind of ongoing list of things hated is just sad, imo.
