Just thinking while watching the presentations on the Q how they get paid. They are always thanking the people who buy their products, especially the TSV's. Anyone else thinking how this is done?

Aren't these "shows" basically commercials? A one hour Dennis Basso is one hour of Dennis Basso commercials. Right? So the vendors probably pay QVC to air there products. The more sales they have increases to profits of the vendors. That's my thought on this. Maybe I'm wrong.

Direct Deposit with a LOT of zeroes!!!!!
What I wonder is what kind of commissions the host make?
When David V. looks into the camera and says "5000 sold in JUST THIS SHOW.......15000 for the day!!! Hurry don't miss your chance!!!!"
Does he get a dollar for each? 50 cents? 10 cents? A % of the cost?
Not that he does NOT earn his pay!!! Watching him eat that Piecaken last week and pretending to LIKE it was worth every penny QVC is paying him!!!!
Do the math!!!!!

The vendors get paid from the company they're representing. I'm sure it's a combination of salary and sales bonuses. They probably have contracts

I was going to say something similar, I doubt that they get a comission from what they sell on air.

I understand the venders sell QVC their products before they sell them on air. Also, the hosts are not on commission(sp) They get paid a salery. I went on a tour and we asked the same questions and the tour guide answered our qustions. The host tells how many have sold for various. reasons.

They are very slow in paying their vendors. They pay after the items are sold. I know because we know the people who sold their honey. They also told me I’d it doesn’t sell, they have to come pick it up.

Most items being presented have been previously shipped to QVC's warehouse where they control shipping. I'm sure that cost is factored in to what the vendor receives.
I've read that everything in Costco is on consignment. I've also read that QVC buys the merchandise from the vendor and then sells it, but I'm really not sure if this is correct. Can't remember the source.

The hosts may not be on commission, but I'm pretty sure they get bonuses based on various performance goals. Not sure if these bonuses are paid quarterly or annually ..... maybe both.
