I had a friend whose son was a vendor on QVC.  The line is no longer offered but it was a big seller at the time.  He was paid a lucrative salary by the company he represented.  She never talked about whether he received commission on what was sold but said he received nice bonuses at the end of each quarter.

This was 10+ years ago.

How do QVC vendors get paid?  We don't have a clue and what difference does it make?

It’s a much more interesting question than so many other threads here are at times.

Do you mean the on air reps for the various lines or do you mean the company itself?  Like Jacque Stafford is a rep for Isaac. Are you asking how much Jacque gets paid? 

Regardless we would have no idea but I do know that the vendors are asked to be on air with their products.  One of the vendor reps mentioned getting a call from QVC asking her to be on air on a specific date and time and another mentioned getting a letter once. 

That's why it makes no sense when some hosts tell the vendor reps to come back anytime.  It's not like they can just show up.  They have to be asked back by QVC.  LOL

Not that he does NOT earn his pay!!! Watching him eat that Piecaken last week and pretending to LIKE it was worth every penny QVC is paying him!!!!

That article seems to have some very old information in it.  The sales figure of hosts starting off at $100,000.00 is from 7 years ago.  I wonder if it's even more now?  I also remember that article quoting Terry McNally, former HSN host, and that is from a very, very long time ago as well so I wonder if that too has changed.  I wouldn't doubt if some of the top hosts get more than the quoted figure including the bonuses?  

I remember someone posted a court transcript from LR and she said that you get paid more for being active on social media as well.

Since we are living in the year 2017, I'm sure it's more money than I can even think about for the big time vendors and the money is probably wired into their business account.  Payroll doesn't cut them a paycheck every Friday....lol

I was told that "QVC"  Buys  the product and they set the price and sells it.  The  vendor (such as Chaz  with WEN for example)  will make appearences  to sell the product.  The vendor  has to buy back unsold  product  eventually if QVC can not sell it.  Basically the Vendor is paid first. I can be wrong

I don't know about the vendors getting paid. But i often sit and think how products everywhere are jacked up in price when most items are made overseas where they pay people cents to make them. This is why I really think before buying (clothing especially). I mean why should I pay 54 dollars for a t shirt when the young person that made  it was paid pennies? They make a lot of money on these clothes. I have a friend who shops at least 3 times a week. She says oh I got this top on sale from 100 to 10 dollars. Really? It wasn't worth 100 to begin with!. lol.

Sorry, Ok I got off base here but this post reminded me of costs in general of products on Q and everywhere.

THe vendor (the individual who appears on QVC to hawk a specific product) would be paid by the product supplier and it would probably be a contract much like most sales reps have where it is salary plus bonus and commission.  they are sales people and would be paid like other sales people.

Now as far as the product supplier that is a contract between them and QVC and I am sure it,is quite complicated.
