My neighbor just showed me a huge groundhog sticking his head out of a big hole next to the foundation of my house. BTW we live in the middle of a very civilized subdivision, not out in the boonies! He's dug a tunnel next to the slab foundation and who knows how big his home is underground! I now know what the scratching sound was I was hearing when inside the house in the room next to where he has chosen to excavate! His head is the size of a small cantaloupe and she said his body alone (she saw him strolling over to his new home) was at least two feet long! He's huge!
I do not want this guy living in the ground next to my house, and I really don't care where else he goes, I just want him gone. Does anyone know of a humane way to convince this monster to relocate? I don't think he's going to fit in the raccoon cage type traps someone gave my son when he had to trap and release a raccoon that had gotten into his attic. He actually does live in a more rural setting! I tried discouraging him by putting some fluffy dog hair by the burrow entrance, but he apparently just thought it was a welcome gift and took it inside to use as a soft blanket! Help please!!!!
