How do I clean my Bose CD player that is skipping? I've had my Bose for about 15 years. It's a combo radio and CD player. It's been skipping when trying to play CD for one month. I've forgotten how I'm supposed to clean this thing. Is there a special CD that does this. My husband has tried for or five CDs. It he claims it's not the CDs. Seems there is a CD cleaner but I can't remember what I need to get for that either.

There were cleaning CD's. Look on amazon.

@Mindy D. If all else fails, call Bose and ask how they recommend it be done.

@MindyD If you find out, would you please post the solution? I have the same problem but, fortunately, it was only temporary .... this time. Thank you very much!

It's a common Bose CD player problem and they won't do - - or can't repair. Eventually the skipping happens - not a bad CD - internal issues. Tried cleaning with the best disk set = no difference.
Bought ANOTHER unit when QVC had their special.

Thanks for your replies. There is a lens cleaner for the CD player that might work and there are CD cleaning wipes. I checked at the Bose site in their customer community for answers to problems and also found some products on Amazon. I will still keep on investigating. If anyone has any other information please post in the thread. I'll keep checking back to see what is said.

My Bose is about the same age. I have had the same problem -- reached out to Bose CS about a year ago & frankly costly to repair.
Could be the "internal needle mechanism". My friend had her's fixed and same thing eventually happened.
The radio is fabulous and if I was tech savvy I'd see how to use Sirius or Pandora but I'm not so I'll just enjoy my fav radio stations.
(I'm sure you paid a lot of $$$ now these systems are really affordable -the way I look at it -- I've gotten my $$$s worth from 15+ years)

Our Bose was 19 years old in December and we just had the same problem. Otherwise, it was the best investment that we ever made.

Why not invest in an Amazon Studio ( approx $170; Echo top of the line model ) great sound and we just use Amazon Music ( free version) it pretty much has anything I can think to play.
