How did you Approach the big 3-0? - Page 9

It's a big milestone, for sure--a long time ago for me, but I do remember it very well.

A friend bought me a pound of marijuana as a birthday present. I don't use pot, have never liked it, so I spent the day hinting that someone else might want it more than I. No dice--it stayed in my desk drawer until next time I moved, when I flushed it down the toilet.

Seriously, I had been quite sick for my later twenties, including a major surgery with a long recuperation. I almost died.

This changed birthdays for me: every subsequent birthday including the big 3-0, has been a gift in and of itself.

I have gotten better each decade so I probably approached 30 as I approached 60 - with great anticipation and joy !

You'll feel the same at forty, fifty, sixty...thirty is a fun age, though-you are finally a grownup, but still young enough to look good and party. Happy Birthday.

Turning thirty was tough for me. I was desperately trying to get pregnant with my second child and already had lost one baby. I also was worried about how I would age because I had a chronic disease that I was told would probably kill me before 40.

I am happy to say that I have done fairly well, had another child and I just wish I knew then what I know now that I am in my 60's.

I will be 60 tomorrow YES THE BIG 60. I have not been upset by turning 30, 40 or 50. I have a husband of over 30 years, 5 children, grandchildren, family & friends. I work Full- time and volunteer. I keep busy. I am in good health. All which is important to me. So for me tomorrow will be a day of fun with family & friends.

Congratulations on joining the club! I will soon be 61.

It didn't really affect me negatively either when I count my blessings and realize how important health and family are.

You have a great attitude!!!
