@SuesCat That's my take, too. There are very VERY few posters whom I don't wish to read at all, and since I never "report" or any of that stuff, "ignoring" someone, even in the tiny group, serves no purpose for me- they just keep at the hit and run posts and revealing their personal hangups as we all do.
When I see them I snicker, or frown, but most definitely, move on.
One of the things I LIKE about giving the hearts is that on those RARE occasions when one of the snarkers post something meaningful and/or objective and/or reasonable and/or actually KIND and/or decent, I like them to know that although I can snark at a perceived snark, I also can see through their subjective junk and find a heart of gold when one appears...........I wouldn't want to place someone on "ignore" and miss that opportunity.

@Moonchilde @dooBdoo- I've actually gotten to the point of making a guess once in a while when a response is poofed, as to who mght be the poofed post's author.
There are a few posters who cannot manage to refrain from anti-STANDARDS posts about some subjects, and it's getting easier and easier to spot them. Yes, I think a tally could be a positive management tool.

There are a couple of posters here who I have on internal ignore. I could easily lapse back into my former days of hostile engagement and needing to have the last word..........but.......
I remind myself that the chronically nasty, chronically critical, chronically negative poster is a person who, IMO, has a heavy load to bear in life. There are reasons a person is like that. But theirs is not my problem and they will not drag me down with them.
To the ultra-sensitive (which I used to be).....try it. Try to feel empathy instead and move on.

Hi everyone,
At this time the ignore feature from the past is still not an option for the current platform. If the option to add this feature is made available we will be sure to implement it since this something many in the Community would like to have back. Thanks for alerting me of this conversation so I could provide an update.

I would think that IF we had an ignore user button and say a poster has a LOT of people ignoring them then that lets the mods know who the trouble makers are. The posters that just come here for a fight and never contribute anything but snarks and insults. Sure would make "moding" a whole lot easier. IMHO

You will still see their obnoxious posts, if someone is quoting them.

I'm not sure the moderators are "allowed" to have the concept of "troublemakers" on these forums. Their hands may be tied by QVC. I honestly can't think of any other logical reason why more isn't done.

Moonchilde wrote:Just a thought re: the Ignore button -
If say, for example, you often tangle in threads with a particular poster or two, and you feel that they are gunning for you - it's true that if you have them on Ignore you won't see their posts, but if they have directed a very rude, very insulting and inappropriate, clearly (and I mean clearly, no doubts about it) personally nasty post to you specifically, in good part *because* you have them on Ignore, wouldn't you want to report it? True, others *might* report it, but then again they might not, and a truly ugly insult would bw lying there for all to see.
The real issue wouldn't even be that you were angered, hurt or insulted by the post, and the poster, but that they *got away with it*, and will surely continue to do it, if you don't see it. I think this *might* be a tiny part of the reason QVC doesn't want Ignore back - because no one should be able to do that.
Interesting points, @Moonchilde. I never thought of it that way.
Like probably many here, I've had that happen and, while I definitely respect and understand your POV on it, my POV was that I wanted it to just stay there and show everybody who that person was. If you don't respond to it and let it stay there, it says a whole lot more about that person than it does about me. ![]()
My favorite was somebody here, several years ago, who told me I was stupid and called me an idiot - using really poor grammar and misspelled words. ha! That was just priceless.

Well that's a bummer !

I have seen falsehoods reported on this forum. AND things that were twisted into something they were definitely not. I have reported as inappropriate, and the Moderators were on it. It has been my experience so far, that they do care, thankfully, in addition they can easily be notified of any trouble trying to be started on the forums board.
