Ours is pretty small. DH and I will have a normal size meal in the late afternoon - nothing too fancy. I'm probably going to grill brats and make some 7-Layer Salad.
A local church does a patriotic program in the evening and there's an ice cream social afterwards. Just about the time everyone is finished with their ice cream, it's time to move to the property in the back of the church for a big fireworks show. We've been doing this for years.

Our celebration is huge!!!One of my favorite holidays! Where we live, we have a parade that is the largest parade in the state, it lasts a little too long usually, but my brother and sister in law live on the parade route, so we their house for goodies, and bathrom breaks, etc. Then because it is my sister's birthday-we have a huge cookout, and then usually fireworks. This year however after the cookout we are going to our daughter and son in laws house, where they have a boat parade on the lake and fireworks.... So it is a big celebration where I live!

Very small...lol. Its my husband and I. He will be in bed by 9 like always because he works 6 days a week and gets up very early. i will watch the Macy's fireworks on tv!
(My kids/grand kids go to their pool for swimming and games). We had dinner w them all Wednesday night.
Also my DH gets his routine colonoscopy Monday so he wont be over eating Saturday!..lol.
Anyway we don't make a big deal out of any holidays anymore, except for Christmas. We spend time with family all through out the year for dinners, picnics, parties. etc.!

We're not having a big crowd, but I just found out a few more will be coming over, so I researched a dessert I could make that would be enough for everyone, I've got everything else planned.
Pretty sure no one will be able to see the fireworks, it's fog every year.
Have a wonderful 4th!

Going tonight (Sat) with our neighbors to see fireworks. Tomorrow we will cook out for dinner, just the family.

The dogs and I drove down to my brothers house and we plan to either go to the Red Rocks Casino display or the Boulder City Damboree for the fireworks. We're having a picnic/pool party consisting of various Mexican food dishes and margs!

I was just gonna do carnival/fireworks in town tonite, but cancelled out. Waiting to take my furrybaby to Banfeld - was able to get her in due to a cancellation. She's got a boo-boo so I'd rather be home comforting her. So, I'd say a teeny-weeny celebration - maybe she nd I will have a burger later tonite.
