In the thread about what you learned in school that is no longer taught now.............Rosemary made a comment that sparked a memory...............as one of the things no longer taught.............she said saving money.............that sparked a memory and I'm wondering if this was done with anyone else when they were in grammar school..........at our school every kid in 1st. grade opened a savings account, it was required............a lady would come from the bank every Friday and collect our envelope that had our passbook in it...........stamp our book and envelope, collect the money and deposit it............that when on four about 3 years...............my dad made me put part of my allowance in it every week..............this was with BofA........then they stopped and I never thought about it again, heck I was what 9 when it stopped........about 15 years ago my grand mother handed me $2000 cash.............I asked her what it was for and she said, remember when they used to have the bank come to school...............well I found your passbook the other day in the safe and went to the bank and got the money LOL....................yeah Rosemary, we were taught to save......
So my question is................did anyone else have a program like in your school.............raven
