Re: How about a Virtual Visit to Disneyland? or Disney World?

We have gone to Disney World almost every year for the last 10 yrs. My ganddaughter is going to be 6 soon and I think our trip in the fall will be our last. I just can't walk all day in the Parks anymore as we average 11 miles a day. I may end up getting a scooter to ride in Epcot on the last day....

I don't think a Vitual tour would be the same as seeing her excitement when she sees the Princesses or Mickey Mouse.

I have alot of wonderful memories though...

Re: How about a Virtual Visit to Disneyland? or Disney World?

I read an article in a Disney Magazine the other day. They talked about opening day at Disneyland. It cost $1.00 admission to get into Disneyland when it first opened in 1955 for an Adult. General Admission for kids were $.50.  And you could buy tickets for, admission to the park and 8 rides for $2.50 for Adults, $1.50 Children. That was Walt's intent - to have an affordable outing for the family.

In 1971 Disneyland offered admission and 10 attractions for $4.75. In 1982 Disneyland started the all inclusive tickets for $12.00 for Adults.  By 1999 the one day passport was $39.50 for an Adult. Now it costs between $97.00 - $135.00/day.

Prices have seemed to skyrocket since Eisner and Iger took over the Disney Company. And that is sad.
