Can you tell me what is appropriate? I retired last year and have done a little volunteer work this year. A couple people have sent me little gifts and gift certificates to thank me for my help. This was totally unexpected.
Should I just send a thank you card, call them on the phone, or what? A friend said that you don't thank someone for thanking you, but that seems rude to just ignore the gift. What would you do? Thank you!
