How Would You Define "Success"?

"Success" means different things to different people. To me, it's not so much about becoming wealthy. It's more about being at a place of contentment in your life, where you have achieved all your goals.

How do you feel about it?

To me, the successful person is the one who has learned how to be satisfied.

Re: How Would You Define "Success"?

Success to me is sitting back after years of raising children and seeing my grandchildren in their reflection. To say I may have not been a millionaire but a wealth of happiness and struggles along the way. I lived through passing of loved ones .  Learning when a doctor says No Hope. So what do you do? You Hope. Wiping the tears of my children and dear friends. Sitting holding hands in sad times. Yes! This to me is success. I survived it all and I am proud of who I am Successful.

Making enough money to live a comfortable life.  I can't be happy and feel content if I'm stressing over how to pay the mortgage next month.

My sentiments exactly, and it only took me 65 years to achieve that.

You know, Baker, I suspect that is partially what they mean when they talk about the wisdom that comes with age.

Success is confidence in making decisions that result in happiness and contentment with life's decisions, goals and accomplishments.  Success brings joy.

So if you don't achieve all your goals you are not a "success".  That's just wrong to me.  Some don't achieve all of their goals for various reasons but I would never say to them, you aren't a success.
