Re: How Sad !! what are people thinking ???

While someone always seems to want to make any lapse in judgment about a social issue, I believe the OP indicated this mother, fortunately now reunited with her baby, had pulled into the driveway of a friend. It wouldn't appear this had anything to do with being a low income worker or lack of childcare.

@stevieb Yes, interesting indeed that some posting here just assumed this mother was poor and turned it into a social issue about that.

For some it seems to be very important to them that other people suffer as much as possible just to live. According to that mindset, ensuring there was affordable child care would make things too easy on poor people.

This has zero to do with what happened

Re: How Sad !! what are people thinking ???

It shows there is a great lack of common sense in this country.  People jump to some conclusion, blame someone, then turn it into a political issue and it becomes the fault of others on one side or the other.

People make mistakes, people do stupid things, ALL OF US TAKE RISKS.  It just depends on which ones YOU are willing to take.

It happened, it's over, it is what it is.  No need to villify, assess competency or get in a snit.

This sounds like what happened in the Atlanta area last week. The mom is a single mother who is trying support herself and her child by working for doordash. She said she delivers meals at night so that her child can go with her and sleep in her car seat. It was a residential neighborhood and she felt safe leaving the car running while she went to the door. She had her keys in her pocket. Turns out it was a set up. Fake meal order called in so that the car of the delivery driver could be stolen.  Fourteen year old teen was arrested. Great news is that the baby was found hours later safe and sound on a neighborhood porch.  The mom knows that she make a mistake and has since quit doordash.

This may be a different story but it sounds very similar.

Sounds like a nice neighborhood..... NOT. I remember this was the biggest fear I had when my son was younger! 💔

God forbid anyone make a mistake. I'm glad the baby is back safe and souind. The woman learned a hard lesson. Why people need to pile on in these situations and say how stupid people are for their mistakes is beyond me. We have all done stupid things at least ours are not reported on the news most times.

You've name called that at me so often it's lost any relevance for me. Along with all the other insults. I'm well aware how much you disapprove of everything I have to say.

So...what now? I'm not going to change and neither are you. You're not going to suddenly become tolerant of my views. And I will never relate to your letter to the editor style of disagreement. I will try to remain civil but that's the best I can do for you. Again, be well.

I very rarely even direct comments your way any more nor do you to me and that's probably for the best. Agree, we each have our own styles and points of view and that's not likely to change. Nor should it. I don't see 'a cause' around every corner and have no plans to start doing so. You are, of course, free to do so if you wish. Again, we rarely interact anyway so yes, civil is good.  Take care.
