Thats about normal here in  Cali.  No wonder so many are leaving this state.

California has regulations that most, if not all other states-- don't have.  This drives the cost up.

 

For one, gas in California can only be processed at oil refineries within California.  

 

Other states can opt to get their gas from other states through transport and they are able to 'shop' for lower pricing.

 

Not sure if we'll see a *dip* in prices before the definite rise because of summer driving season--which begins soon!

I just paid $2.53 @ Costco this am in Northern VA - other local stations selling for around $2.65.

 

My brother lives near Redding, CA (about 3 hrs down I-5 from Oregon border), Gas Buddy is showing that he is paying between $3.79 & $4.49.
