I didn't put in an interesting fact about Indiana so here it is:  Baseball was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  The first professional game was played there, May 4, 1871

@SilleeMee. Don't forget the first Colorado state song is "Where The Columbines Grow" adopted in 1915.  "Rocky Mountain High" was adopted in 2007.

There are also other symbols, such as state amphibian, state fossil, & others.  Now I'm inspired to go look up all of those, too.

I know:

We have the Petosky stone

We have great trees

We have a bizillion lakes and we're surrounded by The Great Lakes.

We have 4 seasons, usually

We have an upper Penn.

We have a town named Holland and each May, the town gets dressed up in Dutch clothes with wooden shoes and they clean the streets and have a parade. They also have the Tulip festival.

We have the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings.

Motown was/is  in that area too.

That's just for starters.

Although years ago I helped one of our boys do a project on our state, I couldn't remember a thing & googled for the answer.

@AKgirl, I grew up on Demarest, next to Alpine.

@riley1, I used to work in Englewood Cliffs also, in Prentice Hall.
