I have higher weight readings during the summer (about 5 lbs). The high dewpoint days cause me to hold more water than I do in colder months. I have to wear a larger size anklet during those months.

When I was actively monitoring my weight, I weighted myself daily. If I noticed a two pound gain after several days, I started to adjust my diet. Those pounds sneak up and before you know it two pounds become ten pounds.
Now that I am over the hill and retired, I am not as fanatic. I judge by how my clothes fit, which I admit isn't a good system because ten pounds usually equates a different size for me.
I remember someone telling me that wearing sweat pants, and similar pull on casual wear around the house is one of the worst things because it is hard tell when you are gaining weight.

With me it's pants not pounds. If my clothes get a little snug, I know I've gone off the rails. I try to stay off the scales, because I get obsessive if I don't see results immediately. I know it helps some stay on course, but it sabotages me.

I don't weigh myself every day. I'll drive myself crazy if I do that. LOL
I weigh myself once a week.

I'm also one who knows it's time to trim down when a favorite skirt, dress, or pants get too snug. I will weigh myself more during these slim down times. In't it funny how this happens after the holidays? ![]()

I typically weigh about 2-3 lbs less in the summer because I'm able to ride my bike, work outside, etc. I eat the same all year, but winter curtails my outdoor activities somewhat. I weigh myself every day, so I know if I'm going up or down.......I don't want to wait until I feel fat to make adjustments. Even a 3 lb change is noticeable on me because I'm a small boned, thin person; and at my age, any excess heads straight to my waist!

i never weigh myself. We don't even own a scale. Once a year at the doctor's office I find out how much I weigh.

It's not about some number on a scale for. Honestly, I could care less about the scale. For me it's my clothing size. Also, I once weighed close to 400lbs so have different relationship with scales than most women have. After WLS 25 years ago, I got down to a size 12 and stayed there for about 12 years. I am older now, my dream size is 12/14. Where I have not been in years. If I do nothing, I maintain at a size 16/18. When 18's are getting tight, I KNOW I have to do something. Now! Right now after 5 months of dieting, I am a 16. It's been hard, the older I get the harder it gets to lose weight but I'm keeping at it and I hope to be a 14 by June. And then I'll live on fruits, veggies, lean proteins and protein shakes so that I can stay that way.

I should have said that many pounds ago but that ship has sailed. Now I want to kick my own self in the rearend. Sigh.

I don't own any scales. If it gets difficult to button and zip my jeans, then it's time to cut the size of my food servings and exercise more. I've stayed the same weight and size since college and I'd like to keep it that way.
