How Many Of You Have The Her2 Gene Related To Breast Cancer?

I would be interested to know if you are in a protocol in Southern California and if the protocol is working without terrible side affects. My close friend is in her second bout of breast cancer which is now in her liver. She lives in Vegas and her very first treatment with the protocol that attacks the Her2 gene put her in the hospital in very poor shape.

For three weeks she was at home with diarrhea day and night, couldn't eat or drink and all the ongologist's office told her to do was take pills to stop the diarrhea and not go to the hospital. She got weaker and weaker and finally called an ambulance. Tests showed she was what they called bone dry, no fluids in her body, her potassium level was dangerously low. They had to hydrate her, give her potassium and 2 blood transfusions. She was a very sick lady and stayed at the hospital for 5 days.

She called UCLA and has an appointment with a woman doctor this week. She is hoping they have a protocol for her that will be different than the one in Vegas. Her son and daughter-in-law live in So CA so she would like to move back there if she can get a treatment. If you are in such a protocol or know someone who is would you be so kind as to let me know where the treatment is being given and any other info you believe will be important. I am originally from CA and if she can get treatment there I will move back with her.

I promised her I would put this on the forum. Incidentally, she would also welcome protocol information from other states as well. The main objective of course is that it be a research protocol that attacks the Her2 Gene. Thank you in advance for any information you can give us. And for those fighting and recovering this horrible disease, God Bless You.
